B.S. in music and languages Indiana University; M.A. in French and Italian Brown University; came to Key from University School, Hunting Valley, Ohio, where she was assistant to the head of school; taught French for eighteen years at Hawken School, Cleveland, Ohio, where she was also assistant head of Upper School, director of educational planning, assistant head for institutional advancement; taught French and served as head of the language department at Shaker Heights, Cleveland Ohio. (Science and Library Center completed; Manse Addition completed; Multi-Purpose Building completed; Manse Renovation completed; Triple sectioning through twelfth grade completed.)
Ronald S. Goldblatt
appointed 1989
B.A. in literature, history and philosophy Shimer College; J.D. University of Chicago; came to Key from girls' boarding school in Connecticut, Wykeham Rise, where he was a teacher, director of finance and development, and headmaster. (Arts Building was added. Construction of Science and Library Center began. Triple sectioning continued)
Rodney V. Beach
appointed 1976
B.A. in chemistry Dartmouth College; A.M. in history Columbia University; M.Ed. University of Cincinnati. Before coming to Key was headmaster at The College Preparatory School in Ohio. (Activity Building was added. Expansion to triple sections began in Kindergarten and first grade.)
David Badger
appointed 1971
Undergraduate degree Dartmouth College; master's degree in liberal studies from Wesleyan University in 1971. Head of the Upper School at Pembroke Country Day School in Kansas City before coming to Key. (Mini-gym was destroyed by fire.)
Edward P. Oviatt
appointed 1964
B.A. Williams College; M.A.T. Wesleyan University; came to Key from St. Mark's School in Dallas, Texas, where he was teacher, coach, and assistant headmaster. (Expansion through twelfth grade completed. Two new buildings were added.)
Corwith Cramer, Jr.
appointed 1962
B.A. St. John's College; B.A. in history and government Yale University; M.S. in history and education University of Pennsylvania; taught at Episcopal Academy in Philadelphia, and at Hopkins Grammar School in New Haven, Connecticut, before coming to Key. (Key added Kindergarten and expanded through eighth grade.)
William Darkey
appointed acting headmaster 1961
B.A. St. John's College; M.A. Columbia University; tutor at St. John's College, on a one-year leave of absence while at Key. (School moved to Hillsmere Shores.)
Peter Kellogg-Smith
appointed 1958
B.A. St. John's College; master's degree in education from the Putney Graduate School, Vermont; tutor, St. John’s College; fellowship to study physics and biology at MIT; assistant to the head of Gunston School prior to coming to Key. (School opened in rented house in Eastport, grades one through three.)
