A nutritious nut-free snack is served “family style,” each afternoon. A monitored homework time provides Lower and Middle School students with a quiet and structured setting in which to study. Students who do not have homework can use this time for reading or drawing; children are encouraged to bring books to read every day.
Students are divided by grade levels with First School students remaining in the First School building; depending on the season, Lower School students gather in either Katharine Hall or the Arts Building; and Middle School students meet in the Ford K. Brown Library in the Barn.
Key's After School Program is licensed by the Maryland Department of Education, Office of Child Care. The After School Program staff bring a diverse and rich pool of talent to the program and are committed to creating an engaging atmosphere where students enjoy participating in creative learning and meaningful play, each day. All staff members are certified in basic first aid and CPR. Students must be registered to attend Key's After School Program.
