Key asks students applying to grades 9 through 12 to complete a brief student application. The student application affords applicants the opportunity to tell the Admission Committee, in their own words, why they believe Key is a good fit. The form also provides a space for students to list and rank their interests, activities and hobbies.
All students applying to Grades 9 through 12 will interview with an admission counselor. Applicants to the Upper School typically opt to schedule the interview after their family's private tour of campus.

Teacher reference forms must be completed by the applicant's current English and Math teachers. If the applicant has the same teacher for both Math and English, only one teacher reference form is required.
Parents submit the Records Release Form to the applicant's current school to authorize the release of copies of transcripts to The Key School.
Parents of home school applicants are asked to submit: a syllabus and description for each course; a list of textbooks and readings; reports; assessment and samples of recent work; and student references.
Due to the volume of applicants to our Upper School, visit days will be offered to admitted students in late winter and early spring, after admission decisions have been sent to the applicant pool.
