The Key School Endowment
One of The Key School’s highest fundraising priorities is the building and the growth of the Endowment. The Endowment is the School’s investment fund, its safety net for the future. It is a permanent fund, invested over time to produce income, enabling the School to operate with a sense of confidence when planning for the future.
A meaningful Endowment will ensure The Key School’s healthy financial position for years to come, thereby serving the cause of excellence and continuing affordability.
Because The Key School is a relatively young independent school, and because facility improvements represented a pressing priority during a decade of expansion, Key’s current Endowment is small. Consequently, funding for financial aid, teaching and learning, professional development, facilities and campus improvements are principally derived from annual tuition income. As we move forward, we hope to address these institutional priorities through the support from the Endowment, so as to keep tuition costs affordable for our families.
Gifts to the Endowment
Donors may request that their gifts be designated as either unrestricted, providing the most flexibility for the School, or restricted for a particular purpose. In all cases, the contributions become part of the permanent financial underpinnings of the institution. Gifts to the Endowment can help the following – Teaching and Learning, Financial Aid, Professional Development and Faculty Compensation, Facilities, or the General Endowment.
By making these gifts, donors leave a distinct and lasting imprint on the future of the School, filling a need and providing for its students, its employees and its facilities for many years to come.
