NEW ZEALAND AND MAORI PROJECTS
A Maori troupe from New Zealand is scheduled to perform in our city in four weeks. You have been selected to host for the weekend a child who is your age and sex. This child is very shy and extremely homesick. Your job for the next four weeks is to make preparations so that your friend will feel almost as if he or she is in New Zealand. The more knowledgeable you are on a subject, the more your guest will appreciate your interest in his or her country. Use these sources to find some of the information you need. When you have completed your research, you need to present a five to ten minute talk about your topic and in certain instances you need also to present something you have made as well. Before you begin, you should look at the expectations and self-evaluation page to see what standards are expected. On the next page are some topics you may chose from. There are also links to web sites that may be helpful. There is also a page of reference books which are either in the school library or in the classroom. These may be helpful in your research. You are not limited to the listings or the links on the next page.
