Traditional Camp - Dr. Seussville
Morning Session or Full Day
Come and join us for a week of Dr. Seuss stories. We will read some of his classic stories such as The Cat and the Hat, Yertle the Turtle, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish. Campers will play games, make crafts and act out some of their favorite stories. How high can we make our Yertle Turtle Tower? What will you make your Thing One and Thing Two look like? All campers participate in daily swim lessons each morning at the Hillsmere Pool. This week is sure to stir your interest in books and the world of Dr.Seuss.

Each week of camp is filled with a wide range of activities: swimming, sports, outdoor games, and arts and crafts. The theme of this camp is good old-fashioned summer camp fun. The camp offers a fun, well-rounded summer camp experience offering campers a little bit of everything from water balloon races to tug-o-war. Campers are placed in coed groups of 1st to 3rd graders and will enjoy new friendships while participating in an ever-changing variety of activities. All campers participate in daily swim lessons each morning at the Hillsmere Pool.

Kinder Theater
Compass Rose Theater Studio
Young actors will use their imaginations as their guide on exciting adventures to a variety of exotic lands and faraway locations! Swing from vines in the jungle, hunt for treasure on an island, and soar through space in a rocket ship! Campers will use classic and contemporary stories to navigate their explorations. Through the use of creative dramatics, movement, song, and visual arts, campers will create their own original dramatic journeys! Every day will be a different adventure! The week will culminate in a sharing of their favorites from the week for family and friends.

Calling All Girls! Lego Friends
The Brick House
Calling all Girls! Join our Heartlake friends in this fun week-long camp. Heartlake is a fictional town created by the LEGO Group. You will build pet shops, cafes, and dollhouses while hanging out with other fun girls. Have a blast making new friends, doing crafts and building Heartlake’s newest park. Create the perfect rehearsal stage, while learning some fun dance moves. You will love this fun and creative way to express yourself while using LEGO bricks to build dollhouses, veterinarian clinics, dance stages, and much more! Taught by experts from The Brick House.

Soccer

Soccer camp is designed to teach boys and girls individual skills and tactics in an enjoyable learning environment. The camp curriculum is tailored to the age and skill level of each camper with a great mix of learning and fun. Campers will also get many opportunities to compete in modified game situations throughout the week. Shin guards are required.

Slime, Gel and Goop

Campers will conduct gooey experiments, make slimy concoctions, and find liquids that crumble and crumbs that ooze. All these squishy, gushy scientific concoctions will be created by you. Some will stretch, some will transform, and some will bounce! If you like goop, putty, dough, gak, and slime, this is the camp for you. Your hands WILL get dirty in this fun camp. Get ready to ooze your way into some summer fun! Lab book of recipes and samples will come home.

Math Magic

Experience the magic of math while also learning math card tricks. Campers in Math Magic will solve tricky puzzles each morning, play math games, and delve into projects that highlight the magic of math. Special projects include creating Fibonacci patterns, designing ancient number scrolls, and making posters from tangram puzzle pieces. Math Magic is run by two experienced educators who love numbers and are excited to stretch the minds of campers.

Paint Your Own Pottery
Marie Talios
In this camp, you will be able to choose pieces to paint and turn them into your own art. There will be animal figures, plates, mugs, vases, and lots more. You will get a chance to try painting with a brush, using stamps to make the designs, and many other techniques. All pieces will be fired and ready to pick up the following Friday.

World Bazaar of Cooking

Who doesn’t love food? Travel with us to the seven continents, creating and sampling colorful fare from a variety of cultures. In this camp we will navigate the world by way of food using modern and native utensils. We will learn about food from around the world by creating, presenting and then eating it up! Come join our tasty world bazaar.

Calling all digital natives! In this camp, students will enhance their writing with Web 2.0 tools. Campers will express themselves creatively with electronic comic strips, pop-up books, memory boxes, posters, and other audio-visual presentation tools. Students will get tips on telling effective stories and preparing engaging projects that will enrich their school assignments in English, social studies and foreign language classes.

Nerf Madness

Pull out your Nerf gun, load it up and get ready for an action-packed week of Nerf Madness! Shoot some targets, have a battle and work on your Nerf tactics. Bring your own Nerf gun or use one of ours. This camp will leave no scars! Goggles will be provided and are required for all campers to wear.

Belts, Bags and More

Learn basic sewing techniques to make terrific accessories such as d-ring belts and quilted cosmetics bags. Other projects will include: key chains, hair ties, cell phone lanyards, coin purses, and pencil cases. No prior sewing experience is needed. All supplies will be provided.

Have you ever wanted to create your own website about a topic you love? Or, maybe a website about yourself? Ever thought about designing an ePortfolio to showcase your schoolwork for parents, teachers or prospective colleges? It’s never too young to start! In this camp, we will use Google Sites to create a website that you can share with the world or just keep for yourself. This is a very simple and fun way to learn about websites and professional design practices. The best part is you don’t need any previous background in HTML code or web design software. This is a design technique called “what you see is what you get,” meaning there’s no coding involved. Come explore Google Sites with us!

Discover the fun of fishing and crabbing in the beautiful Chesapeake Bay. Be ready to explore crabbing and fishing hot spots. Each day, we will try our luck at a different fishing spot around the Annapolis area. By the end of the week you will be catching crabs, baiting hooks, casting, and snagging the “big one.” Be ready to get hooked!

Lego: Simple Machines and Smart Your Engines
The Brick House
This STEM camp is an introduction to LEGO Education and Robotics. In this camp, you will investigate and solve tasks related to mechanical principles, energy, balance, and buoyancy. Campers will create cars, boats and silly see-saws with gears, levers, pulleys, wheels, and axels. They will race their vehicles down a custom-built LEGO racing ramp for a chance to win The Key Camp Cup! Campers will take home the gold in this fun and educational week of racing, bumping, jumping, and more!

Not only will campers will learn the basics of working with clay, they will get to try different types of clay such as Model Magic and Sculpey. Campers will learn coil, slab and pinch pot techniques while making animals, bowls, plates, beads, and more.

Microsoft Marvels Jr.

In this camp, we will combine learning, fun and technology! We will begin camp by improving our typing skills by using interactive games and learning proper techniques. Then, we’ll explore the basics of Microsoft Office including making posters and formatting text in Word, creating colorful graphs and charts in Excel, and designing exciting PowerPoint presentations. At the end of each day, we will also explore dynamic computer software that campers can use both inside and outside the classroom—this includes using Photoshop for picture editing. This is a great introductory class for kids who want to become more familiar with computers and technology!

Join the Key Camp Swim Club and head to the pool. Spend the afternoon swimming, playing water games, and having lots of fun splashing in the pool with your friends. This is what summer is all about! Get in great football shape! You will learn to throw a spiral, catch and kick like the pros, as well as learn trick plays, fakes and how to throw a “Hail Mary.” Campers will run fun conditioning drills to get ready for the big game. Summer Stage Play Production

In this two-week intensive, students will follow the theatrical process from beginning to end. Within the context of a published play, students will audition for roles, memorize lines, learn stage movement, create dynamic characters, and finally perform for a live audience on the final day of camp.

All Sewn Up - Level II

This camp is for those of you who have already taken All Sewn Up-Level I or have experience using a sewing machine. In this session we will sew fun projects such as aprons, shopping bags and pillow cases. Canoeing, Kayaking and Crabbing

Come and join us for a Summer at KEY favorite. We will spend the week canoeing and crabbing on Kitty Duvall Creek. One day during the week, we will go to Quiet Waters Park where we will learn basic kayaking skills from the staff of Paddle or Pedal. If we’re lucky and we catch enough crabs, we’ll have a mini crab feast on Friday! This is a summer camp tradition you will not want to miss.

Girls' Lacrosse camp is ideal for both the intermediate and experienced player. The camp will offer athletes the opportunity to build on their stick skills and their conceptual understanding of the game. Campers will build on basic concepts and will learn advanced and innovative skills, techniques and team concepts through challenging drills, skill building activities, and scrimmages. The staff is dedicated to providing campers with excellent individual and team instruction so that each athlete will be able to apply newly learned concepts in game situations. Goggles and mouth guard are required for this camp.
