Key is a close-knit and welcoming community where every student is known, supported, and celebrated. Strong relationships with teachers and peers create an environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, discover their strengths, and grow into confident, compassionate individuals. The sense of belonging here is real, and it lasts a lifetime.

At the heart of this experience is a community united by a shared commitment to student success. The Parents’ Association brings families together in meaningful ways, and cherished school traditions, both large and small, create shared experiences that connect students across grades and over time. Together, students, families, and faculty are invested in helping each student thrive, making Key feel like more than a school—it feels like home.

The Parents’ Association brings Key families together to support students, strengthen campus life, and build lasting connections. Every Key parent is a member. Through volunteer projects, events, and everyday help, the PA creates welcoming spaces, amplifies school programs, and helps make Key feel like home.

PA volunteers help to:

Organize the 5K/10K and Family Fun Run
Host all-school meetings throughout the year
Coordinate faculty and staff appreciation events
Plan gatherings that connect families
Lead volunteer service projects
Volunteer at the Annapolis Books Festival

School Traditions

For our community, traditions are more than celebrations. They are shared experiences that build connection, create belonging, and mark important moments in our students’ journeys. Events such as the Zag Bowl, Fun at Fusco, Senior Murals, and Commencement bring our community together across generations and roles, reinforcing our values while creating memories that last well beyond Key.

These traditions matter because they give students a sense of continuity and pride, strengthen relationships, and honor both individual growth and our collective story. They remind us that learning happens not only in classrooms, but also in moments of joy, reflection, and community.
