Middle School Learning Specialist

Key School is seeking a full-time Middle School Learning Specialist.

The specific assignment would involve providing academic support to students through direct instruction, by implementing student accommodations and learning plans, and by collaborating with classroom teachers. The person in this position will also be responsible for reviewing and interpreting students’ educational evaluations and for administering select diagnostic testing and annual standardized testing. As part of the school-wide Learning Department, this position will also have a strong professional development component, through annual participation in conferences and through leading professional development programs for teachers and parents.

The ideal candidate has an educational background in Special Education or a related field. Bachelor's degree required (Masters preferred), 3-5 years of experience in an academic support or resource role.

Successful candidates will have strong collaboration, communication, and technological skills, be culturally competent and nurturing teachers, and have experience implementing differentiated instruction techniques. Candidates should have the highest standard of professionalism in dealing with confidential student information.

Founded in 1958 by professors from St. John's College, Key School engages children from 2.5 years of age through grade 12 in a progressive, coeducational, college-preparatory, day program on its picturesque 15-acre campus located 4 miles from downtown Annapolis.
