Kindergarten Classes Explore the Art of Yayoi Kusama
Our Kindergarten students have been exploring the art of Japanese Artist Yayoi Kusama.
From First School teacher Bethani Dagrossa, “Students learned that Yayoi, who has openly discussed her struggles with mental health, uses art to "help her brain feel better.” Much of her work is colorful and uses dots. Our installation piece will be comprised of dotted pumpkins and placed in what we call a “relax space” at the entrance to the First School.”
The Kindergarten classes paired their artistic study with a lesson on empathy and anxiety and created a series of uplifting notes to be included alongside the Kusama installation for any and all to take with them as needed.
