Need-Based Financial Aid

The diversity of experiences and financial circumstances within our community is one of our greatest strengths, which is why we are proud to offer financial aid to 35% of our student body on average each year. Students eligible for financial aid can receive a combination of merit and financial aid.

We encourage families who may need assistance to apply for financial aid. Key’s financial aid budget for the 2025-2026 school year was over $3 million, with the average award being $13,400.

Middle School

Grades 5-8

Interscholastic sports are available to all Middle School students starting in Grade 6, all three seasons. There are no additional fees for participation in organized sports.

The After School Program is available until 6:00 p.m. (see below).

Upper School

Grades 9-12

In addition to after school athletics and other co-curricular activities, the Science and Library Center is open to Upper School students for supervised study after school until 7:00 p.m. from August through April, and until 5:30 p.m. for May and June. There are no additional fees for these services.

After School Program

Key-Wee - Grade 8

Key School’s After School Program is available for students in First, Lower and Middle Schools every day school is in session, with the exception of early dismissal days. The base After School Program runs from 3:15 - 5:30 p.m. Care is available from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. for an additional fee.

Middle School Hourly - Grades 5 - 8 - $ 15.00 per hour (students must be registered to attend)

Late Pick-up Charges: A late pick-up fee of $30.00 per 15 minutes or fraction thereof will be assessed to families arriving after their After School Program contract time (5:30 p.m. or 6:00 p.m.).

While not part of Key's After School Program, interscholastic sports are also available to all Middle School students starting in 6th grade, all three seasons. There are no additional fees for participation in organized sports.

Financial Aid

Support for Military Families

Key School in Annapolis, Maryland, is dedicated to making its exceptional education accessible to families from diverse backgrounds, including those affiliated with the U.S. military.

Before you apply, military families can contact the Office of Admission to request a fee waiver code, which will waive the $60 application fee.

If your student is accepted, military families are encouraged to apply for financial aid. Additionally, programs like the Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood (MCCYN) offer resources and monthly subsidies for eligible families.
