Festival FAQs

Admission and parking are free and require no tickets or advance registration. 

The date is announced on the Festival website the summer before. Information about the Festival begins appearing online and on social media in the fall. Check back for information as it becomes available.

A schedule of events is posted on the Festival’s website. The schedule outlines the authors and their books and contains information about presentations and panels, including times and locations. A printed and online program of all events is available day-of at the Festival.

Yes! In addition to author presentations, the Festival features a huge new and used book sales with thousands of books of every genre, live music and entertainment, food trucks, a literary marketplace, ComicKey!, amazing raffle items, and children’s activities.

The majority of events last one hour. Check the program for details of when events start and end.

Most authors sign directly after their event right outside their event room. However, authors presenting in Katharine Hall sign their books directly after their event in the Activity Building.

The Festival panels in Katharine Hall will be covered by CSPAN Book TV starting at 10:00 a.m. They will be aired on Sunday.  

Masks are optional. Proof of vaccination is not required.

American Sign Language will be available in Katharine Hall all day and on an as-needed basis in other venues. There are marked accessible spaces and the buildings are likewise accessible. If you need any assistance while in attendance, please visit the Information Booth.

The first Festival was held in 2002 and has been held every year (except 2020 due to COVID-19) since then. 

Only service animals are allowed at the Festival.

Yes. There are several food trucks with a variety of menus.

Yes. Wi-Fi is available on campus.

Parking is available on campus as well as remote parking a few blocks away at a playing field. Shuttle service runs between campus and remote parking all day.
