Sunu P. Chandy

Sunu P. Chandy lives in Washington, DC, and is the daughter of immigrants from Kerala, India. She enjoys the empowerment and solidarity that can come from writing workshops, and has led such groups during college and at a vocational training center in India. Ms. Chandy’s collection of poems, My Dear Comrades, was the winner of the 2021 Terry J. Cox Poetry Award and will be published in Spring 2023 by Regal House. Her poetry can also be found in Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Asian American Literary Review, and in the forthcoming in The Long Devotion: Poets Writing Motherhood. Ms. Chandy obtained her MFA in poetry from Queens College, CUNY, and she is also a civil rights attorney.
