Planned Giving

As a member of the Legacy Society, you extend to a grateful school community the opportunity to celebrate, in your lifetime, a gift that will ensure the longevity of Key's tradition and values.

By remembering the School in your estate plans, you can make a significant impact on the future of the School.

What is Planned Giving?

Among the many programs critical to Key’s success managed by the Advancement Office, our Planned Giving efforts have the vastest opportunity for growth. By definition, a planned gift is any meaningful gift, made in lifetime or at death, as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning.

We recognize the opportunities this vehicle of giving can provide our parents, alumni and friends to leave a lasting legacy for all of our students, if only we can educate our community on this often lesser-known, but hugely transformational giving option.

Key's Legacy Society
In order to maintain its tradition of academic excellence while enhancing its position in the highly competitive independent school market, Key School needs resources. Consequently, The Legacy Society was founded to distinguish and celebrate those within the Key community who have provided for the School in their estate plans. Members of The Legacy Society, through their generosity, exhibit foresight and concern for the School’s ability to meet this commitment.

How to Make a Bequest

A bequest to The Key School can be made by creating a new will or adding a codicil to your present will. You may specify a percentage of your total estate, a specific dollar amount, or personal property that you would like to give.

The simplest way to include The Key School in your will is to add the following:

I give ( ________ dollars / a specific asset / or ________ %) of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate to The Key School, 534 Hillsmere Drive, Annapolis, Maryland, to be used at the discretion of its governing board.
