Do you want to start your senior year feeling ahead of the game with regards to your college applications? Are you wondering how to get all of the pieces of your application together and thinking about topics for your essay?  Are you wondering what to do about EA or ED application timeframes? Do you want to know what should be included on the activities resume? Are some of your schools encouraging you to interview as part of the admission process? If you are asking yourself any of these questions, this week-long college application class will help you get a head start on the nuances of the college application process. By the end of the 5 days, students will have the following college application items complete or in a second draft: Common Application account opened and started; Activity resume completed; Essay topic determined, first draft completed; Mock interview completed and feedback provided; Strategy/timeline for taking any additional standardized tests (SAT, SAT II, ACT, AP Exams); Overview of scholarship opportunities. Students will work with Key’s College Advisor, admission staff from reputable colleges and universities (THE professionals reading applications and making decisions about admission!), and writing specialists throughout the week to develop their college application materials. Students will gain a better understanding of how colleges review applications, how they make decisions and what students can do to share who they are and why they would be a good match for a particular college. Most importantly, this will be an interactive, hands-on, FUN week that can reduce anxiety, stress and the time crunch that many students and parents feel during this important time of life. Each student will receive a Fiske’s Guide to Colleges to keep. All other materials will be available online.
