Operating since 1977, Summer at KEY is well-known in Annapolis and the surrounding region for providing children ages 3 1/2 through 12th grade an opportunity to discover new interests, make friends, be creative, and learn about the importance of play and laughter—all in a safe and supportive environment on Key School’s beautiful 15-acre campus located in Hillsmere Shores.

Summer at KEY 2018 will run from June 18 through August 10.

Employment Opportunities 2018

Head Counselor

The Head Counselor, with the help of an Assistant Counselor, is responsible for leading groups that typically range from 10 to 16 campers in daily camp activities that may include arts and crafts, swimming, music, games, and sports.

The Head Counselor is responsible for the campers’ daily physical and emotional safety and well-being. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and are required to have previous experience working with children in a school or other setting.

Hours are Mondays 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays 8:45 a.m.-3:45 p.m. Additional hours are available for those interested in working in the Extended Care Program.

Office Assistant

Office Assistant needed to work closely with Summer at KEY Camp Directors providing administrative support in an extremely busy office environment.

Duties include managing online camp registrations, answering the phone, communicating with parents, and other general administrative tasks. Applicants must have basic computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, strong organizational and communication skills and the willingness to assist with a variety of daily camp operations. The position begins May 1 with between 20 to 30 hours per week and then grows to full time beginning June 4 through August 17. Applicants must be 21 years or older. Prior experience in an office setting is preferred.

Assistant Counselor

Assistant Counselors work alongside Head Counselors to help with daily camp activities that may include arts and crafts, swimming, music, games, sports, cooking, and science.

Assistant Counselors must be energetic and enthusiastic and must be at least 16 years old.

Hours are Mondays 8:30 a.m.-3:45 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays 8:45 a.m.-3:45 p.m. Additional hours are available for those interested in working in the Extended Care Program.
